Oh that explains it....

The camera aparently has

Yes of course, that's what happens when you put underpowered batteries in it, the circuts all break.

And it would 7000 ruppees to fix...so it would:

Really?

Well good thing you're here with a full stock of cheap cameras... I'm so lucky I stopped by this

Hmmmmm....that number sounds bigger than the other one...
But you know I'm not from around here and the multi-colored money just confuses me.
What're they called agian? Rupees?
I know! How 'bout I just take out my wallet and you just take whatever the right amount is.

Perhaps you'd like to hold my passport for a day or two , you know , for your records.

Seriously, I have not been this scammed since i was 9 and that punk kid just
'borrowed' my bike.
