Vindaloo?

No one in this part of India has every heard the word vindaloo. If you've been to any indian resturant in the states this is a standard item on the menu.

Goa is where they have vindaloo, it's a Portugese word.

I'm reading up on Goa and all the tourbooks keep trying to tell you to go off the beaten path, partly because alot of stuff is expensive. But if you're willing to go in brain-frying indian May...prices get knocked in half ( or more) , now it's the rainy season so it's still affordable. It might be monsooning but how often am i here?

Here's the tourbooks take on some of the spots:

On Om Beach: Black rocks, superb white sand...Infrastructure here remains practically non-existent...tranquil beach...

Whoa!....non-existent? .....I've been to the places where you said it was 'well-developed'
...I aint even trying that...

On Noth Goa: ....now part of a tourist infested strip of sun-loungers backed by beach shacks serving beer, cocktails and fresh seafood-- the sort of packaged beach experience we feel is best avoided...

Yeah sounds awful, you stay away!...I'm going.

So...Goa has vindaloo, and beaches.
And they have pork and Jesus, like when I went to visit my buddy in Mississippi....
yep, just like Mississippi....I'll let you know.
